- Official name-based checks: order through Pennsylvania Access To Criminal History, operated by Pennsylvania State Police
- Police and incident reports: request the file from the police department or PSP station that created it
- Expungement and limited access: obtain the current forms and file through the Chester County Clerk of Courts when the county case qualifies

For Common Pleas criminal records, contact the Chester County Clerk of Courts, 201 West Market Street, Suite 1400, West Chester, PA 19380, 610-344-6135. The counter is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Sheriff handles court security, prisoner transport, civil process, and warrant enforcement, but is not a countywide pool for police incident reports. General county Right-to-Know requests route through the Office of the Solicitor at 313 West Market Street, Suite 6702; court, police, prison, and PSP records should go directly to their actual custodians.
